Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 18, 2026
This policy explains what information UTrippn ("we", "us") collects when you use the UTrippn iOS app and web app at app.utrippn.com, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address and login details when you create an account.
- Trip content: destinations, dates, stops, notes, checklists, journal entries, recent flight searches and anything else you add to a trip.
- Documents you save (Pro): photos and files you add to Documents, such as tickets, reservations or ID photos, are stored only on your device. They are never uploaded to our servers, aren't synced between devices, and are locked behind Face ID or your device passcode. Photos are saved without their location data. Deleting your account or the app removes them from the device.
- Onboarding answers: your responses about travel pace, comfort and interests, used to personalize AI itineraries.
- Location: only if you allow it, to show your position on the trip map and nearby places. You can turn this off in your device settings.
- Purchases: subscription status from Apple or Google. Payments are handled by Apple or Google; we never see your full card details.
- Usage and device data: app interactions, crash reports, device type and operating system, used to keep the app working and improve it.
Your profile and sharing
- Public profile: your display name, @username, bio, profile photo and banner are visible to other signed-in UTrippn users, as are who you follow and who follows you. Photos are resized and saved without location data.
- Private account: you can make your account private in Edit profile. Your name, @username, photo, banner, bio and follower counts can still be found, but people must request to follow you and you approve or decline each request. Only you and the followers you approve can see who follows you and who you follow. Switching back to public approves any pending requests.
- Trips are private. No one else can see your trips unless you invite them with a trip invite link or code. People who join a trip can see and edit that trip and the notes, checklists and journal entries attached to it. You can remove members, and members can leave, at any time.
- Your travel-preference answers are never shown to other users.
Location and Explore
- UTrippn asks for your location only when you tap Near me on Explore. Your location is rounded to about 1 km on your device before it's used, it's sent only to look up nearby activities and restaurants (via Google Places), and it's never stored on our servers. You can turn location off at any time in your device settings.
- For your upcoming trip, Explore uses the trip's destination, not your location.
- Explore's travel videos are links to public posts on TikTok, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook. Opening one takes you to that platform, whose own privacy policy applies.
Reports and blocking
- If you report a profile, we store your report, the reason and any details you add so we can review it. The person you report isn't told who reported them.
- If you block someone, we store that so they can no longer see your profile or follow you. They aren't notified. You can see and undo blocks in Settings → Blocked accounts.
- To keep profiles safe, names, @usernames and bios are checked against a list of prohibited words when you save them.
How we use information
- To create, store and sync your trips across the iOS and web apps.
- To generate AI itineraries and optimize routes based on your inputs.
- To provide subscription features and customer support.
- To fix bugs, prevent abuse and improve UTrippn.
How information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run UTrippn, such as cloud hosting and sign-in (Supabase), email delivery (Resend), maps and places data (Google, Geoapify), flight and hotel prices (SerpApi), the AI model provider that plans itineraries and finds travel videos (Anthropic), and Apple and RevenueCat for subscriptions (RevenueCat receives an anonymous account ID and your purchase history so we can confirm your Pro status; it never receives your payment details). These providers may only use the information to provide their services to us. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Data retention and deletion
We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app under Settings, or by emailing [email protected]. When you do, we delete your account and trip content, except for information we're required to keep by law.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Contact us at [email protected] and we'll respond within 30 days.
Children
UTrippn is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encryption in transit, to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Changes
We'll update this page if our practices change and revise the date above. For significant changes, we'll notify you in the app.
